There are three colors of a litmus paper, and purple means the water is neutral. Simply dip the litmus strip in the container of water. If it turns red, it means that your water is acidic. 3. Reagent Drops
Reagent drops are another effective way to check your water’s alkalinity. Simply put a few drops of it into your sample water. After that, compare the mixture to the color chart of the reagent drop to see if your water is acidic or alkaline.
